First and foremost, thank you for visiting my page. By clicking here and reading my story you are doing so much more than just that - you are supporting me and many others by taking time to listen/understand/and support.
This year marks my second year of participation with the AFSP ( American Foundation for Suicide Prevention ) and most importantly my second year vocalizing this ongoing stigma that needs to be recognized. I've experienced the rise and fall, the ebb and flow, and different rhythms that life as shown me within my 21 years on this disoriented yet beautiful planet we call home. Home can be such a broad term, overall it holds a strong standing place that is sacred. Feeling at home, peaceful within and safe is taken for granted too often especially now, with the strong influence of social media and in this fast-paced era that we live in. To not feel at home, many feel lost, insignificant, lethargic, and mentally/physically drained.
Many people, like me, have lost the tenderness of home or have never had that to begin with. This is essential and I strongly believe it is a matter of survival to obtain because without it you are left not grounded. Self-control and self-expression coincide with rootedness. That being said, life can be a painful experience without this. Being easily triggered, flooded, and/or reactive is a symptom of this.
Not feeling like your roots are grounded also causes anxiety, panic attacks, depression, and emotional disconnection. People go through these emotions daily, monthly, within the seasons, and so forth. Imagine living life not living. Meaning, in the absence of fulfillment and bliss.
I’ve encountered trauma and inner conflicts that questioned my very own existence and purpose. And endured the pain of others in need of self-aid from this confusing and judgmental society. With the many energies, constant changes, and corruption that takes place today, it's easy for reality to misconstrued itself which can cause a negative ripple effect on anyone's mental.
It is our responsibility at the very least to be considerate of one another. We are very unique and different in many ways. In contrast, we are also very similar. We all have feelings, souls, and experience pain. Most importantly, we are all flowing as one together in. It is necessary need to take more time out to acknowledge that.
